USA.gov – Consumer Frauds & Scams – An excellent supply of information on how to protect yourself against consumer fraud and scams including banking fraud, credit card fraud, insurance fraud and more.

FTC Credit Report Consumer Information –  The FTC provides consumers free information on how to protect themselves against bad business practices, including identity theft, credit scams, faulty products and marketing and more.

StopFraud.gov – President Obama established the Financial Fraud Enforcement Task Force in November 2009 to hold accountable those who helped bring about the last financial crisis as well as those who would attempt to take advantage of the efforts at economic recovery.

Department of Justice – The DOJ provides data and stats on identity theft and fraud and has a library of resources for fraud victims.

Identity Theft Assistance Center – The ITAC is the leading consumer advocate on identity fraud and the financial services industry’s identity management solution center.

Identity Theft Resource Center –  The ITRC provides no charge assistance to identity theft victims as well as educating consumers and other organizations on the best practices for credit & identity fraud detection, mitigation and recovery.


Credit Reporting & Monitoring Services

AnnualCreditReport.com – Receive your free annual credit report from each of the 3 credit bureaus.  Help fight identity theft by reviewing your credit report often and catching reporting discrepancies and errors.

CreditKarma.com –  Credit Karma is a free service which allows members to pull TransUnion based credit reports and provides a FAKO score.  Credit Karma also allows you to sign up for free credit monitoring with fraud alerts.


Credit Repair Services

CreditRepair.com – CreditRepair.com is a reputable credit repair service that uses a 3 step process to check, challenge and repair any errors on your credit report which are causing you to have a low credit score.  CreditRepair.com is a paid service but reports an impressive success rate in helping clients clean up their credit reports and improve their credit scores.
